at black keys weehee

d’angelo -devils pie

for entre… i’m pretending to be a purist by only playing vinyl this week -oh yea… oh my fucking god, still buzzing about playing for the black keys… they were seriously on fire… oh my lordy lord… saw them do sound check too *melt* hehe…anyhoo, in ode i’m doing a black keys extravaganza…

the black keys:

i got mine -from there latest album attack & release

set you fee -from 2nd album thickfreakness

no fun -their cover of the stooges that they did last time they played on their first album -the big come up -white vinyl no less…

so he won’t break -attack and release -it was transcendant live (to be a complete wanker!)

have love will travel -thickfreakness (also a cover -not sure who did it originally but the sonics do a stonkin’ version)

segway into the sonics money (thats what i want) which i played on sat and had a great fun dance with dan auerbach at doc after the gig… just quietly! hehe…great dancer and all round nice guy…aw thats a relief when one likes someones work that they don’t turn out to be a complete tosser huh?

the girl can’t help it -little richard

my man -ike & tina turner

cha cha twist -the detroit cobras

she’s got balls -acdc

oh my it’s like you were at the show! fuck i love that song, one of those completely forgotten gems… this is for my oldest and finest of friends chelle -who is in london and listens on line -so so cool… we had similar taste at 13 and spent hours discussing the joys of zeppelin and whether slash or axl was spunkier, and weirdly we have very similar taste still -we both discovered this song completely seperately across the ocean -wow…it’s like kizmit or something

jump into thw fire -harry nillson

spoonful -cream

peaches -the stranglers

cool for cats -squeeze

blah deblah about harry nillson etc now onto the garage-fest mmmmm yummy

going all the way -the squires

get yourself home -the fairies

pyschotic reaction -positively 13 o’clock

leave my kitten alone -the first gear (”i love my little kitten just like you hounds love your bone”)

beaver patrol -the wild knights

steppin’ out -paul revere and the raiders

lies -nancy sinatra

my boyfriends back -the angels

be my baby -the ronettes

and because i’m on a total phil spector buzz i’m going to play all of the ramones ‘the end of the century’ produced by fruity fucked up old phil spector… hopefully the art of the whole record will be seen in all it’s glory!! i flatter myself…

tracks : side1- do you remember rock’n'roll radio? -i’m affected -danny says -chinese rock -the return of jackie and judy -lets go side 2- baby i love you -i can’t make it on time -this aint havana - rock’n'roll high school -all the way -high risk insurance

phew! i’m a bit fucking exhausted… they are some high energy… now here’s a record i found in the most unlikely of places…JBHIFI -i found yip jump by daniel johnston on vinyl… a re-release admttedly but still…weirdness -it was a great fucking price too -maybe they didn’t know how to price it?

casper the freindly ghost -daniel johnston

thought i’d finish on a super sweet note after all that manic angst!

pretty little baby -marvin gaye
